We grow when we learn, but how do machines learn? And why? From Spotify suggesting songs similar to our favourites to ads popping up based on our interests, technology seems to be stalking us to constantly learn our likes and dislikes to improve our experience in the digital world, right? But how does do it?
The digital world runs on data. Everything we do is captured. Machine learning is a method of data analysis that automates analytical model building. It is a branch of artificial intelligence based on the idea that systems can learn from data, identify patterns and make decisions with minimal human intervention. It allows us to continually learn from data and predict the future based on patterns and data analysis. This powerful set of algorithms and models are being used across industries to improve processes and gain insights into patterns and anomalies within data. From Banking, social media, and transportation to healthcare, marketing, and security, it's applications are immense.
